Phoenix PD needs your help in the 92 area.

Below is an email I received from Metrocenter Mall asking for additional help. Could this information be passed on to PNPers who might like to help us out?

We are again asking for a bit of help, advice, or assistance here at Metrocenter. First I want to say all our efforts since June of last year have shown a dramatic reduction in crime and the individuals that were hanging out here, causing many of our problems, had left. We truly appreciate all you do for Metrocenter and the community and do not want to see it all go for not. Over the past month I have seen a rise in problems starting and our guests we attract again becoming less than desirable. Vehicle break-in, Assaults both at the center and Transit, Many vehicles cursing with loud music, Loitering, and graffiti. Saturday evenings again becoming the main problem night. Saturday the 15th and 22nd I am going to be doing the following to stop the problems before they get out of hand.

-2 Extra off Duty P.D.
-2 Extra Exterior Security
-4 Extra S.C.A.N. {Camera Operators} mainly focusing on graffiti.
-My Dispatch will move out of the Camera Monitoring Station to allow for two camera operators.

This past Saturday I was here all night and noticed a big percentage of the crowd was in their 20’s again vice the wide range we were getting over the past six months or so. The Transit Station again becoming the avenue of arrival and a big hang out area. AKAL Security is doing a decent job but I see the kids going back and forth from Transit to across Metro Parkway and the Mall. Transit had an assault Saturday as well as the Mall. We apprehended the individual and seven of the group he was with. The graffiti is absolutely out of control and we get hit every day causing a great deal of time and cost to clean it.

Anything you could do for the next two Saturdays would be welcomed and appreciated.
Thanks for your time.

Subject: Tagger Arrest at Winsor Square shopping center

The following information is from:
Mark Lewis, Community Relations Consultant
Pros Ranch Markets

Our property manager and the security patrols caught a tagger last night.

Three teenage Hispanic males were at the east side of the 3445 W. Glendale building at the big empty suite painting on the window when security came by the area of Il Primo on patrol, saw them and called the police. The police were able to apprehend the actual tagger even though he and his two lookouts ran off when they saw security.

“The police report information is:
Report# 80478925
The Reporting officer is: Chaparro 8692

“There is "RITE" now written on the glass where they were tagging. This is a tag we have seen before. One of the employees at Il apparently knows the individuals from the local neighborhood. They apparently have a tagging "gang" known as "D2R" all of the following tags belong to the group:
RITE, MARK, HIPNO and KINS”

Please make sure this arrest of members of the DR2 RITE, MARK, HIPNO and KINS gets put into the neighborhood news reports.
